Accelerometer, G-Meter, US Navy, Kollsman 1002-02-142 BeaufighterHere is a late 1940s 1950's Accelerometer, or G meter, made by Kollsman, part number 1002 02 142. This accelerometer measures G forces from 12g's to +12g's. There is a screw on the rear of the instrument that, when turned, will unlock the instrument upon installation. The US Navy anchor symbol is stamped on the rear of the instrument, evidence of its installation in an aircraft of the US Navy. The accelerometer has 1 pointer that instantaneously

It is an exceptional reference as a primer and as a reference for those with a cursory knowledge of aviation fuels of that era
