Description
Jacques Prieur, Echezeaux Vintage:2013(from a . 36 ha parcel located in the climat of Champs Traversin). An overtly spicy nose features notes of Asian style tea, sandalwood, cassis and lovely floral hints. The caressing yet entirely serious medium weight plus flavors possess good density for the vintage, all wrapped in a surprisingly powerful and lengthy finish. (91 93) 2032+
Drink 2016-2040
with very integrated oak after 14 months in barrel and two months in oak vats
This forward
Once again there is fine density to the delicious and caressing but powerful middle weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the clean and agreeably dry finale
This is not especially structured and comes across as fine rather than its usual robust character
Super-fragrant with a floral lift from the Viognier component
This is more restrained still though aggressive swirling eventually coaxes the gorgeously broad-ranging and pure nose to reveal a more floral and spicier mélange of red and dark currant
The grapes from the most calcareous soils underwent a carbonic maceration in small bins
somber and animale suffused aromas of dark pinot fruit that precedes rich
saline and aromatic finish with ripe and stewed stone fruit aromas on the aftertaste
Otherwise the supple
giving the wine the right amount of freshness and sweetness to make it fun to taste today
