It is a Kaya which is a mosquito net. It would have been used predominantly in the summer to keep mosquitos and small bugs away. It was hand woven from hemp fibres and has been green dyed. The weaving left tiny spaces which allowed wind to pass through, but prevented bugs and mosquitos.
