Forts Latour Size:3x750mlDark crimson with a little age at the rim. Beefy, bloody notes on the nose. Quite open. Already quite soft and round on the front palate with fine tannins only on the very end. You could drink this now with food but there is still lots of life in it. More substantial than the 1996 Forts. Vigorous and powerful.

There is excellent vibrancy to the attractively textured medium weight flavors that also exude a refreshing salinity on the citrusy

the 2010 is sure to improve with a little more time in the bottle

The 2000 is not especially subtle or nuanced

Just a touch of warming alcohol pokes through

blueberry and bacon fat

Here too there is a relatively supple mid-palate mouthfeel to the slightly finer broad- shouldered flavors that possess a gorgeous texture

A discreet dollop of new wood does not really get in the way of the ripe and spicy aromas of red berry fruit and violet hints that marry into supple

The finer middle weight flavors aren’t as powerful though I like the vibrancy on the dusty

The best of Voerzios 2008s are pure magic
