Tube One's gain was quite a bit lower and still should be useful if your amp has a balance control

This matched pair of Westinghouse black plate 12AU7A / ECC82 dual triodes was tested on our Paul Hart-calibrated TV7/U for shorts

but I do not recommend using them at any other filament voltage than 12
